We are thrilled with JPM. We were looking for a drought tolerant landscape to replace a fairly large area of grass that we let die back--not a pretty site. Joe listened to our ideas and drew up a well thought out plan. It was quite a bit over our budget at first, so Joe worked back and forth with us to get the cost in our price range. The yard is a stunning transformation and includes an array of colorful plants and trees, interesting dry creek bed and a mix of mulch and California Gold stone. The additional outdoor lights that illuminate the path and trees were a nice touch and glad Joe talked us into it. His crew was always on time, incredibly polite and hard working. Joe came through on his 1 year plant guarantee to replace a tree that broke in one of the powerful early spring windstorms. We hired Joe to help design and landscape both our front yard and back yard. After agreeing on a design, the team (same 4 guys every weekday from 7:30-4pm) cleared both yards. My project was not large but it had a little bit of everything; I needed some ideas; I needed a fence replaced; I needed a new lawn; I needed some plant suggestions and then have them planted. We hired Joe Andolina of JPM Landscape to design and install a complete new front yard and back yard (including both side yards). Joe did an outstanding job with the design, so good that we made very few modifications. Joe's team started on time, Jan. 4th, 2016 and finished the entire project Apr. 18th, 2016. It took a few weeks longer than originally quoted, but there were about 10 days of rain and lots of paver cutting done. We did go a little over budget due because Joe presented us the option of installing larger trees, which we are so glad we did. Joe gave us everything we asked for: raised veggie garden, trellis, pergola, fountain, fire pit area and outdoor shower...all in the backyard. The front yard has a dry riverbed and lots of drought tolerant plants and large rocks and sandstone pavers. His team was courteous and prompt and worked hard in the rain and heat and left the site clean and tidy each day. I called Joe back a few times to fix a trellis and a portion of a fence that warped due to rain, and he replaced two plants that died, probably due to grubs...not sure why they died, but he did replace them. Joe was very responsive to emails. My only recommendation to Joe is that he come back after a year to see how everything has matured. There are a few plants that I switched out due to poor performance or personal preference. I would also encourage Joe to update his design with the slight modifications we wanted (rather than just tell his lead guy), as one of the changes did not get incorporated and when I look at it everyday, it bothers me. It's where the cars park in front of the house at the street, the passengers exit the cars and have to step in the shrubs because the layout wasn't quite designed/planned with this in mind. Joe worked really hard up front coming up with a design that was within our budget, and he stuck to working the budget even when design changes were made. So, we did not blow past our budget. This was pretty outstanding since we were doing front, back and one side yard. His team was prompt, courteous, hard working, very open to questions and resolving issues. During the entire 8+ week project, we never once felt unhappy or uncomfortable having them working there. They were a true pleasure to have around. We live in a suburban northern California city and had not done much except maintain our 48-year-old "DIO" (Did It Ourselves) front and back yard landscaping (lot size of 6,000 sq ft.). We hired Joe (JPM) to design a new front and backyard landscape which included driveway pavement. We asked for drought tolerance plants, tree for shade, low maintenance, and some kind of dry-rock creek. Joe was very patient during our many meetings and his design captured what we asked for. Joe filled in the details which we didn't know of or think of, for examples, widened the front door and back patio door staircases, widened the driveway, recommended where the accent and walkway lights should be. A good design needs a good work crew to make it happen and we got a good one. Michael led the crew which included his brother and a few others. He translated Joe's design into reality. He was very patient explaining what happened and would be happened every time we asked. We felt comfortable discussing daily activities and overall progress with Michael and the crew. The work site was kept clean daily. When curbside was used for staging the materials, traffic corns were placed for safety. These are important to us as we don't want the work site becomes a hazard or eye-sore to our neighbors. The whole project took about two months to complete since our landscape and driveway was completely redone. The aftereffect is wonderful. Many of our neighbors admired the front yard as they walked by after sunset. We are enjoying the wonderful coloring of backyard whenever we relaxed under pergola.
